As you all know gas prices are all over the news these days. And as always nobody wants to look at true solutions, such as pumping off of our own soil and building new refineries, along with getting it off of the futures market and let capitalism take over.
So it is no surprise that the candidates are touting solutions that will not help. Both McSocialist and Hitlary are wanting to push a bill that will repeal the gas tax for the summer to "Help" out the people. This will only cut the price of gas by 38 cents per gallon. Now as this will help out some. It is not the answer to the problem. This will only save us about $30 for the entire summer. And the inflation that is running wild right now will take that away plus more. This plan is like cutting your leg off at the knee and putting a knuckle band aid on it to stop the bleeding.
The reason it will not work is because the loss of tax revenue will not stop congress from spending, thus putting us with a bigger deficit that grows by the second. Also it will not work because it does not deal with the problem that makes the prices so high (and no it is not the evil oil companies gouging the hell out of us).
It seems that the only one that even half way gets it is Obama But i'm sure he will find some other way to screw it up more than the other two screw loose candidates. People stand up and make your voice heard, make sure we elect politicians who will actually help the situation
