Look At What The Free Market Can Do

One of the big talking point these days for the candidates is Healthcare, or when they talk about it, its more like Healthscare. They all want to get the government more involved in it. The want to increase the scope of the government into this field. That's the socialist agenda. However like i have said before on this blog, the best answer, the only TRUE answer to this problem is to get the governments nose out of it, get the insurance companies nose out of it, and let the capitalistic free market have it.

This is the Libertarian way. Get government OUT. And in this instance it is no different.

If you would like to read my previous blog on this topic, click here.

Anyways, as the politicians hash out how best to take this situation over for themselves, and sell us down the river, capitalism is taking hold of a small ( yet powerful) portion of the market. This capitalism has drastically reduced prices for medicine across the country. It has reduced the need to file you medicine on your insurance, thus reducing the need for the copay. Also reducing your dependence on the insurance companies.

It is a brilliant idea that has come about by one of the largest retailers. Walmart (i know this is a dreaded BIG Evil Company that is nothing but a plunderer of all that is good of this country and that the Democrats drool over taking government control of) has for some time offered $4 prescriptions for generic drugs at their stores. Now for the record i like Walmart, i think it is one of the best things to happen to this country. And now they have started expanding the list of offered prescriptions to around 1,000 different drugs. Hooray for them. Let me say a big thank you to them for doing this. They are proving that capitalism works, even when a over zealous heavy handed government tries to do otherwise.

Now i will get the argument that Walmart is just doing this to sucker you to come in with your prescriptions and then make you shop while you wait for the medicine to be ready. Well i call out those of you who think that, Every small or big drug store in America does this. You go in, drop off your prescriptions, and shop while you wait. You pick up the over the counter medicine you need while your there. Some drug stores even still have a soda area for you to buy a soda while you wait. But to you people this is considered ok. To me it is clever marketing. These evil-big business mongers are the same ones who will patron Walmart for the cheaper gas they sell. GUESS WHAT, whether they sell cheaper gas, cheaper medicine, or both, it is still a great marketing tool. They sell somethings cheaper so that when you come to get the items that are cheaper, that you will purchase other regular priced items. It is clever marketing. I mean do you go to the same grocery store every week because you like the store, or do you watch the ads in the paper and go to the store that has the best sales. Most people, myself included, go to the store with the best sales. Why do these store have sales? To get you to also pickup other items that are not on sale.

So in closing, Thanks to Walmart for stepping up and proving to everyone that the Free Market is the best solution. Now if others would take heed to this, we would living better off.

Viva Liberty!
